DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Review and process applications for Uniform Construction Code certification, for both individuals and Third Party Agencies. Determine that applicable fees have been provided and apply to the record. Maintain hard copy and electronic files of returned/ incomplete applications and complete, accurate system database for division usage. Send out and track monthly renewal notices. Review and process BCO Notifications and insurance documentation.

Interpret Lead/Asbestos/Bedding & Upholstery/Stuffed Toy Laws and Regulations and Uniform Construction Code and assist in answering emails and voicemails in the CAL, B&U and UCC resource accounts. Answers inquiries pertaining to complaints, applications, and forms as well as provides information to the private and public sectors.

Make conviction regarding the issuance of refunds; prepare proper Revenue documentation for CAL Administrator signature.

Review and process applications for asbestos certification, for both individuals and companies. Determine that applicable fees have been provided and apply to the record. Maintain hard copy and electronic files of returned/ incomplete applications and complete, accurate system database for division usage.

$34,680 - $51,736 a year

Review and process applications for Sterilization Permits, Bedding & Upholstery, and Stuffed Toys. Responsible for complete assessment/process of sterilization permit initial/renewal applications, new bedding & upholstery, secondhand bedding & upholstery, and stuffed toy initial/renewal applications. Make determinations regarding compliance/non-compliance based on the information provided by the customer. Determine that applicable fees have been provided and apply to record. Maintain hard copy and electronic files of returned/ incomplete applications and complete, accurate system database for division usage

Provide clerical and office support within the Certification, Accreditation and Licensing Division (Asbestos, Lead, Bedding & Upholstery, Stuffed Toys, Private Employment Licensing, Uniform Construction Code, Boiler Certification) and the Boiler and Elevator Division to ensure operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position serves as the lead worker regarding lead abatement project and asbestos/lead course notifications.
